I started driving lessons with Andrew at Drive to Thrive after 5 unsuccessful tests with other instructors. Andrews approach was unlike anything I’d experienced before; his friendly attitude, relaxation techniques and confidence building tips had a dramatic effect on my driving and only two months after starting lessons with  Drive to Thrive I’d passed  the test!

I found learning to drive particularly difficult as I suffer from dyslexia. After disclosing this learning difficulty to Andrew he tailored the lessons to suit my particular learning needs. Being dyslexic means I have short term memory problems so in order for my brain to develop automaticity with driving Andrew used a lot of repetition to reinforce the different techniques.  Andrew also discussed different approaches to help me distinguish between left and right.

Passing the driving test will have a huge impact on my life as an English Tutor and Business Manager at West Yorkshire ESOL (www.westyorkshire-esol.co.uk) as I can now travel around the region with ease.

Andrew is a fantastic driving instructor. He has a real interest in his pupils and makes his lessons enjoyable and fun. Andrew is certainly the best driving instructor I’ve experienced and I have no hesitation in recommending him to anybody wishing to drive.

I was driving on the motorway and I had my Grandmother with me. An incident occurred up ahead and I am so glad of doing a Pass Plus that I put my training in to good use and avoided it.

Driving Lessons

I would highly recommend Drive to Thrive and Andrew Adams to anyone who wishes to learn to drive in a comfortable, relaxed and friendly environment.

The thought put into the teaching process, with the use of the Drive to Thrive folder, along with the thought for individual pupils needs, creates a great learning environment in which both pupil and instructor can progress smoothly towards a successful test day.

I think Andy’s current 70% first time pass rating, and other testimonials show his, thought for pupil’s learning style and driving ability. His mantra drive as a driver not as an examiner creates an understanding of the road and how to safely drive within it, instead of doing things because you’ve been told to you do it because it come naturally.

Pass Plus.

A great learning experience, and one which will keep me safe, and prepared whenever I journey out, whatever the route or conditions. The drive to Whitby is one filled with great roads, to build the confidence and awareness needed to be a well-rounded and safe road user. Andy also fills the day with great hints and tips on driving that will keep me safe, and well clear of the dangers that other road users don’t see or expect. The fish and chips were a plus point also

Over all my learning experience and the rapport I have built with Andy have created a great learning environment turning something that some people find stressful, and nerve-racking into something enjoyable.
